Ambitions and Goals

  Introduction

As students, we need to become a student, including knowledge of our subjects, the skills necessary to be a model of our peers as well as the attitudes and behaviors that encompass "professionalism". We ultimately hope that all of our hard works will let us become graduates and be successful in our ambitions and dreams, realizing that "success" can mean many different things. There should be little argument that a primary definition of "success" in being a student includes either achieving exceptional grades in our subjects. But success can and should encompass many other dimensions, particularly those that exemplify advancement of their own goals, successfully performing a performance, properly leading your own group or class towards having a fun experience throughout the school days. Thus, a continuing challenge for students is assuring that we ourselves and our fellow students will translate performance into success after graduation.

Difference between Goal and Ambition

“Goal” is the target set by a person while“ambition” is a desire to reach that goal with person satisfaction. goal is something that is a reachable and should be achieved while an ambition is something more difficult to achieve , it is a desire that we are looking forward to and work for to achieve it. Goals are measurable in a specified period of time. It can be short-term or long term. Both classification can also be used independently or at the same time. Ambition can be measured in the duration of the process. Ambition is usually long term because of duration of process and consequences of the efforts within the process. To compare, “ambition” can be said as the means while “goal” is the end . Goal also refers to the development of the mind. In contrast, ambition is the development of the future. Goal is like as target , which you set for your life and you want to achieve it. It is the most important part of life. It gives us reason to live.

Why do you need an Ambition?

When we were little kids, most of us probably asked “What I want to be in the future?” and we likely answered almost similar professions; like becoming a doctor, a fire fighter, a teacher, a nurse, a soldier, a police man, and an astronaut, this are some of the basic answers we all give to our teachers but today, it’s almost definitely not the one we picked in the past, because we now know the world is much more bigger than that, there are lots of other professions out there for us to pick, and the society or sometimes our parents just straight out pressure us to the core to pick one in over hundred thousands of professions. Picking a profession don’t just need to be “... because it’s what I wanted” but it also needs to be attainable and time bound; like you can’t be a superhero you idolized as a kid like Superman or Wonder Woman; you can only be a hero in a humanistic way, what’s more you need to earn a living for yourself and of course for your future family.
Subha Sarkar said, “A man without any ambition is a boat without the sails. It can drift in any direction and at the end of the day, may find life a fruitless and frustrated nothingness.” This just explains that without our ambitions our life is good as over, we live everyday hoping to achieve what we want to be and what our ideals are. We try our very best and sometimes we do not. All of the hardships along the way is part of the process in achieving your ambition, it is not a factor that can stop you in achieving it, instead it determines what will you choose, like what profession will you pick and what road will you take toward your ambition and goals.

Confused with your Ambition?

Not having any professions in mind is fine because you don’t hold what you will become in life, and it is always never too late to pursue our dreams and ambitions. These ambitions are always deep inside us and will never be gone,  it is indeed a part of ourselves to achieve something. Let us all keep in mind that achievements are endless and competition can also be a motivation for our ambitions in life. We just need to keep in mind that we are free to take our time since rushing things up just says you are not yet ready for it and sometimes you need to follow your heart if your mind can’t keep up.
